REGISTRATION FAQ


I have attended in the past, do I need to register again and if so, why?

Yes, each company must register for each event separately. This way your company and employee information is kept updated.

I have attended as a buyer in the past yet I cannot find my company listed on your website?

Database management can be tricky and there are many factors which must be considered. If you cannot find your company in the list, please go ahead and resubmit the required business credentials after you register (follow the instructions) and we will do the research to find out why you were not listed even though you attended as a buyer in the past.

This is my first show (or) I’m required to resubmit my business credentials. What documents will I need to provide?

You will need to submit two of the following once you have completed the online registration process:

1. Invoice(s) showing purchase of FINISHED brand name goods in the outdoor industry, placed within the last six months.
2. Business Card that includes your company name and address.
3. Business License indicating you are a retail business (NOT a seller's permit).
4. Letter of Intent from an attorney or bank on official letterhead stating the intent to start a new retail business (this is acceptable for new businesses only).

What is the cost to attend the show?

The cost is Free for qualified buyers for a limited time. After the free registration deadline, a nominal processing fee applies. All qualified non-buyer categories: manufacturers, brands and industry affiliates may purchase badges to attend the show. Please check back in the Fall of 2008 for more details and pricing.

All registration fees are non-refundable.

What does my registration include?

Admittance to the Backcountry Base Camp (BBC), and the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. This includes all seminars and official Outdoor Retailer events.

I completed the online registration process and submitted my corresponding business credentials, when will I receive my approval confirmation?

You will be notified via email once your status as a buyer has been approved. If you register by fax, please do not call to confirm receipt of your fax. We will follow up and/or send confirmation within two weeks. If you have not heard from us after two weeks, please resubmit your credentials and email us at orreg@nielsen.com.

How do I add more staff to my store/company once I’m registered and qualified?

Register your additional staff just as you registered originally. And if you are registering as a first time buyer, you must resubmit your credentials.

How can I qualify as a Non Profit organization or Military agency?

Download our Non-Profit/Military registration form. The form should be available when registration for Winter Market 2009 opens in the Fall.

1. Non profit organizations must also submit a Tax Exemption form along with this completed registration form.

2. Military agencies must submit a copy of the agency’s Military ID.

Will I receive my badge(s) in the mail?

Your badge(s) will arrive to the address provided approximately 2-3 weeks before the show to all US and Canadian locations. Please bring your badge and photo ID to the Badge Holder Pick-Up counter in the convention center lobby to check in and receive your badge holder. If you are an International attendee or register after the free registration deadline, your badge(s) will be available to pick up at the show at Badge Will-Call. Please bring this confirmation and a photo ID to receive your badge(s).
